Wild Hill Fall Update

"There is no mountain we cannot climb"

Wild Hill started this wedding season with a ride up the mountain in a gondola full of flowers in Vail, CO for a breathtaking view and ceremony for the sweetest client. However, the mountains we have faced since returning from that memorable trip have been nothing we have ever expected.

We have faced every challenge that we couldn't have imagined possible since the start of this beautiful wedding season. Shortages and constant substitutions with floral product, supplies unavailable, sick employees, labor issues and many changes due to Covid. We have handled all the best we can under the circumstances, but to say that we have handled everything perfectly is simply not true.

In the events industry, there is always an urgency that I have felt since the beginning of Wild Hill 7 years ago. Many people ask how I started this business, but truly I have always felt that commitment to my brides and clients must always come first. I strive to reply to emails quickly, even if it means little sleep on a particular week - it has always been a top priority to me that all clients of Wild Hill never question our dedication to creating their perfect event, making sure every detail is noted and executed.

All this additional time and energy needed to adapt to these challenges each week for our events has caused us to take longer than we normally do to respond to emails. This has also led to delays in sending bids - as we normally are able to get them back quickly, during this time with all factors above, we have been prioritizing tasks as needed to fulfill the most urgent events. We are committed to responding to each and every communication and getting bids out as soon as possible.

I just want to share with you a few actions we are taking immediately to ensure these sort of communication delays will never happen again!

1.     We have made provisions with our floral substitution process and I have pulled in additional team members to be able to hand-select our floral directly with the wholesaler. By adding additional team members to this process, we are able to minimize design interruptions and ensure our clients continue to receive the highest quality floral!

2.     We have adjusted our operations and are making major changes in our organization. We are learning from these trying times and will be better equipped in the future to handle these types of situations so no other client experiences any delay or negative experience with Wild Hill due to lack of communication.

3.     We have very strong relationships with our suppliers who are doing everything possible to send us all the flowers and supplies we've ordered. They also assisted us in pre-ordering supplies in anticipation of our upcoming busy season. In addition, the Wild Hill team is made up of some of the most resourceful people in the business who are literally searching around the world for the perfect blooms and reimagining everything around the shop so we can adapt in this uncertain climate.

4.     We have added additional team members to support us this week and through the remainder of the fall wedding season and are cross-training employees to assist in the bidding and meeting process, working carefully to streamline all communications in the future.

For all those who are planning events and working with us during this time - THANK YOU!!! I can assure you that although these times are trying, we have learned so much and are adapting to ensure we never end up in this situation again. We will apply a little extra something special to your proposal - we understand the urgency and excitement of your event and always want our response times to show our matched enthusiasm for your big day!

On a personal note - I want to thank you for your understanding, as in the past few weeks during all that I have shared on the business side, I have also personally had my daughter start back to school in 4th grade, my brother and sister-in-law visited for the first time in 4 years since returning from his Navy base in Japan, my daughter Katie's 10th birthday, one of my rescue dogs passed away suddenly and finally the hardest one to share - my sweet Grandma was diagnosed with dementia and her memory in fading quickly -- all of this happening among normal daily life events while caring for our little farm. I only share this to say - my commitment to you, our clients, is unwavering and we truly appreciate your continued patience and grace as we work through all this. I want to assure you that these types of delays will never happen again!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you - Wild Hill would not be what it is today without the support of our loving, wonderful and compassionate clients. We truly get to work with the best of the best!

 xoxo, Jenni
